Towill, Inc. provided staff augmentation and surveying services to the Metropolitan Water District under our third consecutive contract for on-call surveying, mapping, and related services with the Agency. Over a six-year period we assisted Metropolitan on many diverse projects including tunnel surveys (both control work and as-builts), pipeline surveys, topographic surveys, and special projects such as the detailed architectural surveys of the interior of Metropolitan’s headquarters building. For the entire contract duration, Towill successfully supported Metropolitan’s Inland Feeder project, performing tunnel surveys, training, and design and construction support
Towill surveyors augmented Metropolitan’s staff by providing detailed topographic surveys to complement all phases of design, performing surveys for centerline staking, right of way, easements and adjacent parcels for review by Metropolitan legal, real estate and environmental staff. Field work included preparing corner records, GPS surveys to establish construction control to guide the contractors, and establishing construction benchmarks using designated bar code reading levels. During construction, Towill surveyors checked the accuracy of the contractor’s survey layout and together with the Resident Engineer and Metropolitan inspection staff, verified pipeline placement, structures and general improvements in accordance with plans and specifications.
